How the course works
The course contains easy to follow instructions detailing every aspect of playing the clarinet. Starting without any knowledge or experience you will gradually develop the ability to play and read music with confidence. Each grade is divided up into lessons each of which will take about a month to cover. The instructions are very detailed and describe exactly how to achieve the correct results with success. Any problems that can arise are dealt with in detail, this comes from years of hands on experience in the class room. If there should be something causing problems then contact me and let me know what it is and I will give you advice on how to overcome the problem (and add the advice to the web site!).
The course is designed to work on your internet browser and has the sound files embedded where required. The written music is available to download and/or print so you can practise material already covered without having to go online. You can also save any sound files you want for future reference onto your own computer.
There are three colours used throughout the course. Dark blue is the link colour, click on these to access different pages.
Red is used to donate a sound file. Click on the file to download and listen to it. Because of the size of some of the larger files they can take up to 30 seconds to download. Do not be alarmed by this, it is necessary to have the highest quality sound possible and that requires large file sizes. Also you will be busy trying to play your clarinet while waiting!

The sheet music is available for download onto your computer. Then you have the option to read the music on your computer or to print it off. Therefore once you have covered a subject fully you do not need to log onto the site to perfect your playing. There is also a copy of all the piano parts, useful if you have a pianist friend. The sheet music is in PDF format, therefore you will need Acrobat Reader to view it. Acrobat Reader is available free from Abode Reader Download at ;
The most recent addition to the site is video, examples of which can be found in the First Free Lesson. A link to this is on the Home page.
