My name is Colin Hunter. I am a Fellow of the Trinity College London with over 35 years teaching experience. I was the Senior Music Instructor for Aberdeen City for 26 years, teaching 8 year old beginners right through to grade 8 distinction pupils going on to a career in music. I retired in June 2015 and am concentrating on developing the Clarinet Companion course. I also taught at Aberdeen University for many years, taking my students through advanced performance to Honours Degree level.
My performance career has varied over the years. Along with clarinet I also play saxophone and flute professionally and have appeared in many musicals, concerts and recitals throughout the North East of Scotland.
Chamber music has been one of my favourite musical activities. The picture is of the Duthie Wind Trio. The bassoonist is Lesley Wilson who was principal bassoon with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for 25 years. Anne Rankin played cor anglais with the Hong Kong Symphony for 5 years before moving back to Scotland to have a busy freelance carreer.
Unfortunately due to developing arthritis I decided to retire from professional playing and took part in my last two shows in Her Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen in June 2012.
